MathCountsMATHCOUNTS® is a national enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory. MATHCOUNTS is one of the country's largest and most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors and students. President Barack Obama and former Presidents George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ronald W. Reagan have all recognized MATHCOUNTS in White House ceremonies. The MATHCOUNTS program has also received two White House citations as an outstanding private sector initiative. MathCounts CompetitionThe next local MathCounts competition will be held in 2011 (TBD)! The state MathCounts competition will be held March 19 & 20, 2010 in Louisville. Please consider volunteering at the event! Thanks to all the participants and volunteers who were part of last year's MathCounts events! Louisville KSPE Chapter InvolvementThe Louisville Chapter of KSPE coordinates administrating the MathCounts program for the Kentucky counties of Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer and Oldham. The Chapter competition is held in February at Ernst Hall on the campus of the University of Louisville. Approximately 50 chapter members volunteer their time each year.
